Tips on How to Reduce Anxiety Attacks – 3 Methods That Can Help You Cope With Anxiety

Anxiety is a chemical response to perceived threats and anxiety is a common problem in people of all ages. Fortunately, there are certain foods that will calm an anxiety attack and reduce its severity.

First, take control of what you consume and the kind of food you eat. If you are prone to anxiety attacks, you may be trying to avoid certain foods and beverages because they trigger an attack. For instance, if you often have panic attacks, try to keep away from caffeine, sodas and other stimulants. Instead, opt for a diet rich in calcium, whole grains and fresh fruits.

A lot of people with anxiety disorders also take medication. One of the ways to treat anxiety disorder is to get regular exercise. It can relax the body as well as the mind. The easiest and fastest way to relieve yourself of anxiety is to start walking or jogging. Regular exercise will increase your endurance and make you feel more relaxed.

Aside from exercise, there are other ways to treat anxiety disorders such as breathing exercises. Breathing exercises are known to calm attacks as well as lessen panic symptoms. The goal of breathing exercises is to lower the heart rate and thereby prevent an attack from occurring. In addition, you should focus on proper breathing technique and deep breathing. Make sure that you are doing these properly and regularly.

Lavender oil has been used in treating anxiety disorders since ancient times. However, some studies show that lavender oil can help reduce anxiety attacks as well. To get the best effect out of using lavender oil, you need to apply this natural oil directly on your chest or throat whenever you feel anxious. Keep in mind that this natural oil is also effective in relaxing the muscles in the body which can help relieve stress.

Finally, practice breathing exercises everyday. You can either do it yourself by taking a long walk or just calm your body and mind by breathing deeply every time you feel an attack coming. Taking a long walk will not only help you calm your nervous system but it can also increase your stamina and strengthen your immune system. Meanwhile, deep breathing when you are anxious will release tension from your body and make you feel more relaxed. Combine all these methods together and you will notice that your anxious attacks have lessened a great deal.
